Health Care

Superior health care for a fit population

The active, outdoor lifestyle of Aurora residents translates into a high degree of fitness, which means less illness and lower absenteeism for employers.  Preventive health care receives a great deal of attention, and many employers provide wellness programs for their workers.  Hospital facilities include the The Medical Center of Aurora, University of Colorado Hospital, Children's Hospital Colorado and the Veterans Administration Medical Center (under construction).

With 1,130 pediatric specialists and more than 2,300 full-time employees, Children’s Colorado is home to a number of nationally and internationally recognized medical programs.  Children’s Hospital Colorado is the only pediatric Trauma Level I facility in the state.  Children’s Hospital Colorado is currenlty undergoing an expansion project that includes a new $228 million, 10-story, 350,000 square-foot tower with an anticipated operational date of late 2012 that will create 500 new jobs.
