City of Aurora among healthiest, happiest and fittest

The city of Aurora was ranked ninth best city for menMen’s Health and Women’s Health magazine for 2011. According to the magazine, cities were named best due to research covering health, fitness and quality of life. The rankings were determined through valuable sources such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Census Bureau, the FBI, the U.S. Department of Labor, Nielsen-Claritas, and Simmons-Experian. Contributors took into consideration included per capita occurrence of cancer, gym memberships, air quality, obesity and crime rates. 
 
In 110 years, Aurora’s population has grown in excess of 1,500 times its population of 202 tabulated during the 1900 census.  In 2010, Aurora’s population was 325,078 making it the third most populous city in Colorado and the 56th most populous in the country.
 
Aurora ranks higher in after-tax income than many other cities across the country.
