State-funded employee training programs Financial assistance programs from state and federal sources fund training costs for new and expanding companies. Local businesses have access to several state-sponsored employment and job training programs designed for any existing business or new firm coming to the state.
Dozens of institutions of higher learning Aurora’s educational system is highly regarded, from elementary through vocational, two- and four-year colleges and universities. Throughout the metro area, 21 institutions offer baccalaureate degrees or higher and six colleges supply associate degrees. Many of these facilities feature non-traditional or adult education programs, including evening and weekend part-time tracks.
Community College of Aurora Known for its exceptional responsiveness to business needs, the Community College of Aurora’s curriculum is constantly updated to bring students relevant and applicable skills. The facility presents 32 associate degree programs in addition to 40 certificates in vocational education and technical fields. Many of the colleges work directly with individual businesses to graduate employees with specialized education and skills. The institution was ranked the number one community college in Colorado and number two out of all two- and four-year public colleges by the Colorado Commission on Higher Education.
University of Colorado Denver - Anschutz Medical Campus Part of the former Fitzsimons Army Medical Center is being transformed into a 217-acre campus for University of Colorado Denver's Anschutz Medical Campus and University of Colorado Hospital. The University of Colorado Denver's Anschutz Medical Campus is one of the nation’s top academic medical centers and will be the heart of an active complex of laboratories, clinics, hospitals, classrooms, and offices.
Kindergarten through high school Aurora has a top-notch K-12 educational system comprised of public schools, as well as a number of private and parochial schools. Colorado students consistently score above the national average on college entrance exams.
Aurora Public Schools Aurora Public Schools is the sixth largest school district in Colorado and one of the most diverse. Our more than 32,000 students come from over 100 different countries and speak more than 90 languages.
